Today's Topic: Respiratory Chains
Today in class we discussed the respiratory chain. Review the material in your book, and from previous classes. Focus on how bacteria can use alternative electron donors and acceptors. The critical thing to remember is that cells are looking for sources of reducing power.
Daily Challenge:
Explain the difference between the Eukaryotic and Bacterial respiratory chains. Remember that the mitochondria respiratory chain is an evolution from the bacterial respiratory chain. Look at where the respiratory chains are found, and the components. Pay particular attention to the qunione pool.
